DEVELOPMENT UPDATE

Subscriptions Join CRESA's Bespoke Alert System

UPDATEPUBLISHED

CRESA expands its bespoke single-alert system beyond Follow, bringing Sub and Resub events into the shared presentation architecture with their own event-aware experiences.

Follow Was Only the Beginning

The new Follow presentation had established an important pattern for CRESA: an alert could have its own visual identity without needing its own completely independent runtime. The next test was whether that architecture could actually support other event types without becoming another Follow-specific system hidden behind a reusable name.

Development continued by bringing Subscriptions and Resubscriptions into the same bespoke single-alert architecture.

Building on the Shared Runtime

Sub and Resub could reuse the lifecycle and presentation machinery already established for bespoke alerts while providing event-specific rendering of their own. This meant the shared runtime could continue handling the mechanics of mounting, progressing and completing a presentation while each alert remained responsible for the information and visual treatment that made it distinct.

It was an early but important confirmation that CRESA could grow a family of bespoke presentations without duplicating the entire alert pipeline for every Twitch event.

Resubs Bring More Context

Resubscriptions also introduced a different kind of information from a straightforward new subscription. The presentation needed to account for the additional context belonging to a returning subscriber rather than treating every subscription event as identical.

Keeping that distinction at the renderer level allowed CRESA to preserve the meaning of the event while still benefiting from the same lifecycle architecture underneath it.

A Presentation System Starts Taking Shape

With Follow, Sub and Resub now participating in the bespoke architecture, the work was beginning to look less like a collection of individual alerts and more like a genuine presentation system.

The Global Alert Framework could decide where activity belonged, the shared single-alert runtime could manage how a bespoke presentation progressed, and individual renderers could concentrate on giving each event its own character. CRESA was gaining variety on screen without giving up control underneath it.
