DEVELOPMENT UPDATE

Starting Soon Becomes More Than a Waiting Screen

UPDATEPUBLISHED

CRESA's Starting Soon scene evolves into an active pre-stream experience, using asynchronously loaded Twitch clips, dynamic montage presentation and a more polished broadcast identity.

Starting Soon had always served a simple purpose. Give the stream somewhere to sit while everything gets ready. By 19 August, CRESA started asking whether that time could actually be used for something. The answer became a new Twitch-powered clip montage.

Turning Waiting Time Into Part Of The Stream

Rather than leaving viewers with a mostly static Starting Soon screen, CRESA began pulling Twitch clips into the presentation. The new montage system was built asynchronously so retrieving and preparing clips did not need to hold up the rest of the scene. Once available, those clips could become part of the Starting Soon experience itself.

That meant the time before going live could start showing moments from previous streams rather than simply asking viewers to wait.

Building The Montage Presentation

Getting clips onto the screen was only the first part. The presentation then went through several passes focused on making the montage actually feel like it belonged inside CRESA. Clip layout, movement and visual treatment were refined, while the scene itself gained additional polish around the Starting Soon title.

A light sweep across the title helped give the centrepiece some movement without overwhelming the clips around it.

More Movement, More Variation

The montage was also adjusted to increase its density and variation. Instead of the same presentation repeating too obviously, the system could create a busier and more varied sequence of content. That helped the scene feel less like a collection of embedded videos and more like a deliberately constructed pre-stream presentation.

Starting Before The Stream Starts

This was an important change in how CRESA treated Starting Soon. It was no longer just a placeholder before the real broadcast began. The scene could now use existing Twitch content to entertain viewers, reinforce the channel's identity and make the period before going live feel like part of the broadcast itself.

The stream might not have started yet, but the show already had.
